The Best Home Gardens Of 2022

21 June 2023

Green thumbs and gardening enthusiasts from across ECM communities participated in our annual challenge by nominating their most magical home gardens. The competition connects neighbours fostering new friendships, promotes environmental awareness and helps grow a sense of pride in the vibrant communities.

Here are the winning Emaar home gardens that wowed our judges.

Hilmar Oschmann, Arabian Ranches I
Best Large Garden

“Having a home garden is a good way to stay grounded. Doing this demands a lot of respect, and patience, and one must be meticulous.
For a boxy home in Hattan, like we have, we complemented it with curved planters curved walkways. Every plant does its job to clean the air a little. It’s lovely and makes us very proud.”

Malou Robertson, Arabian Ranches II
Best Medium Garden

“We have plants that are not so common but will survive in these conditions.
And, natural grass is something we love, and we love to walk barefoot. Nature heals and rejuvenates. This is a sanctuary for us with the dreamy olive grove and romantic meandering path that lends an Italianesque feel.”

Alima Tanveer, Reem
Best Small Garden

“We need to talk to our plants and spend time with them and they will return it. COVID was a blessing in disguise as it brought us closer to people and our gardens. I love to plant the native plants wherever I am, as they need least maintenance. Whenever I have a seedling, sapling or a cutting, I keep it outside for others to enjoy and take with them.”
